Tanto gentile e tanto onesta pare

So unassuming she is apart,

Yet those around become aware,

Chatter quietens, voices drop,

Each looking briefly, none to stare.

She, conscious of a compliment,

Remains immune through modesty;

Seemingly for a moment,

A patch of heaven, in our reality.

Her presence pleases, brings a smile,

Hearts softened from her eyes,

None understood but those that feel,

And from the movement of her lips

A tender spirit, love entire

Entreats the soul to sigh!
